Hi there, my name is Antonio Pacelli and I’m the media producer here at J P Gardner & Associates. Since starting here almost a year ago I’ve learnt a great deal about how to successfully create and market videos on social media, an effective tool for promoting your brand online.
These tips will help you to maximize the reach of your output without spending dizzying amounts of money.
1. Make it personal.
There’s always a temptation to over-produce things. I often see introductory videos with sleek camera angles and artsy shots that feel worthy of an Oscar in cinematography. It can be really easy to place this aesthetic above simply introducing your friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere and helpful attitude. An informative and friendly area guide or market update is worth more than flashy visuals and a voiceover with not much to say.
2. Don’t be afraid of the camera.
More often than not my arrival at an agency is met with faces filled with dread, but it doesn’t need to be a daunting prospect. I think being able to speak confidently about your industry, whether on camera or not, is a trait all agents should have, and being on camera should be viewed as though you’re talking directly to a potential customer. You want them to believe you really know your stuff, something that is easy to get across when you stop thinking of it as being an impediment to your working day, and start seeing it as a powerful tool for getting new clients.
3. Don’t just stop once the video is made.
Frankly, there’s not much point in spending the time and energy to get a video made if you have no plans for getting it seen by your potential customers. There are numerous advertising options out there past Facebook’s built in ‘boost’ feature that can help produce more appropriate and organic views. There’s nothing more frustrating than coming across a beautifully made video for an agency with less than 10 views just accumulating dust.
