2020 has without doubt been a roller coaster of a year, and the property industry has had to adapt to new legislation and new ways of operating with lightning speed. But agents aren’t the only ones who’ve had to adapt, adapt, adapt.
Industry charity Agents Giving were all set to put on their annual fundraising ball before the rude arrival of Covid-19 scuppered their plans. Our very own Jane was part of the organising team after winning Agents Do Strictly back in 2017. They’ve had to postpone the event until 2021, and whilst that part’s disappointing, it also means that without it – their fundraising will be taking a huge hit. Agents Giving support UK charities who are supported by agents, and at a time when the whole charity sector has taken the same hit, every little really does help!
The team which consists of: Yvonne and Vicky from Agents Giving, our Jane, Kyla from Paramount, Fran from Foxtons, and Simon from Kerfuffle, have instead been meeting virtually to organise the virtual Agents Giving Acts of Kindness Awards which is all set to replace the 2020 ball and raise some much needed cash for struggling charities.
Like its name suggests, it’s going to be a celebration of the great acts of kindness that have been taking place this year. Jane’s been hard at work making pages on the Agents Giving website to showcase acts of kindness as they come in, as well as phoning DJs and getting involved in the planning, and Jo’s been diligently creating posts on social media to start getting some attention.
You’ll be pleased to know that some things never change though, and the virtual awards are going to be hosted by Agents Giving patron, the brilliant Phil Spencer on the 4th December from 4pm – 5pm.
To get the party started, DJ Ross Harvey of DAB will be taking all your requests and giving shout-outs before the event, at points during it, and then afterwards too.
We really hope to see you there, we love supporting Agents Giving with our digital marketing and website wrangling skills, and we adore the idea of celebrating kindness!
To register for the event:
It’s free to register, but there’s a suggested donation of £10 which will go to the NHS Charities Together. One lucky person who registers their spot will win £200 of Amazon vouchers!
Also once you’ve registered you’ll get a signature strip as a thank you, which you can add to your social media to show your support.
The Agents Giving Auction
Each year at the Agents Giving Ball, there’s an auction. This year like all of the property auctions, it’ll be taking place online with IamSold! You can currently visit the Agents Giving website to see the lots and place initial bids, and then you’ll be contacted to see if you want to join in with the live auction on the night, and you’ll be given a phone number for the IAmSold team who will be taking calls in the afternoon.
There will be a DJ, Ross Harvey of DAB for fifteen minutes pre the event taking requests for music and shout outs, this will continue through part of the event and an after party also taking requests, a real fun hour and a half.
Win £750 for a charity of your choice
There’s also an opportunity for any agent or industry supplier to win a live £750 donation to go to their chosen charity by simply sending in a video no longer than two minutes, pitching why their charity should win by the 27th November 2020.
