We’re not saying things are easy now, but lockdown was truly horrible for so many.
The one thing that was really lovely and touching was seeing the good that came from it. So so many people rushing forward to get stuck in and help.
Social media was awash with people offering to do shopping, pick up prescriptions, make and deliver meals to those who were shielding. When there was a mass-call for volunteers, thousands and thousands of people signed up.
Industry charity Agents Giving were on it, sharing #IndustryActsOfKindness across their social channels, which was a real tonic in the midst of something so awful and scary for so many.
Within our industry, whilst agents were unable to visit properties and conduct viewings, their work coming to a halt, many rolled up their sleeves and used their websites and social media to highlight local businesses who had changed their business models overnight to offer delivery, were helping with deliveries, pointing people to helpful information within their local communities.
This makes it even more special that we’re joining other industry suppliers in sponsoring an award for the Agents Giving Acts of Kindness Awards 2020. The award category we’re sponsoring is the Social Media Award for Best Act of Kindness.
Although so many of us are still facing difficult times, and having to make adjustments, it’s going to be really lovely to take a moment and celebrate some lovely, positive news.
The awards themselves are going to be virtual, and will be streamed live on YouTube, on Friday 4th December between 4-5pm, and will be hosted by the patron of Agents Giving, the wonderful Phil Spencer.
So put the date in your diary, and keep an eye on Agents Giving’s social media, as they’ll be announcing more exciting news shortly, as well as how to enter the awards.
