Expert Lettings Consultancy
When you’re so close to the day-to-day running of a business, it becomes incredibly difficult to know where to start, and how to evaluate objectively when you’re looking to change the way you do things. That’s when it becomes handy to have an extra brain, pair of eyes, ears, and hands of someone who knows and loves the industry, but isn’t emotionally tied to the pressures of the day-to-day.
What they were looking to achieve
Jane’s reputation as an industry whizz preceded her on this occasion, and knowing about her background growing a successful lettings agency, Ashington Page decided she was the right woman for the job of helping them take the business to the next level.
- Adapting processes to become more streamlined – and paperless!
- Increasing fees in a difficult market
- Expanding the department and increasing profits from other sources
(or at least, part of it!)
At the very beginning, it was important to understand the minutiae of Ashington Page’s lettings data. Starting with this is essential, as decisions made based on incorrect assumptions can be costly. If you’re working with data, it makes it much easier to justify any difficult decisions you need to make – the data doesn’t lie.
Introducing structure is essential for creating streamlined processes, and Ashington Page have done just that for onboarding new clients, as well as preparing new literature addressing fees and services. This allows the team to develop confidence in carrying out the process – a confidence which naturally passes to the client.
As part of their drive to expand the lettings department, they also created a landlord obligations booklet and offered it as a free download, promoting it using Facebook advertising. As the lead has to fill in their email address in order to download the booklet, it’s a great way to expand their database which…
… they’re now making the most of by sending out regular newsletters. Again, it’s all about implementing a structured process by following the journey from the download of the landlord obligation guide, to keeping in regular contact via newsletter (with informative content) they’re now making the best of their leads.
