As part of our online plan for 2017, all of us in the JP Gardner office have been asked to take it in turns to start blogging. Today it’s my turn – but where does one start?
To give you some idea of how I’m feeling about this right now, I’ve recently been catapulted into the 21st Century via the world of digital marketing and have been lapping it all up like a sponge in a puddle of knowledge!
I’m a self-confessed bossy madam, so have always found myself in roles of organising and delegating to people face-to-face. I’m used to working on reception, in customer relations, or as a personal assistant. To be frank, prior to working at JP Gardner & Associates, social media for me meant a collection of selfies, holiday snaps and maybe a few shots of nights out – just a few!
But now here I am in my favourite local pub with a glass of red, listening to Christmas music and wondering where to start. Naturally the first thing I did is ask Siri how to write a blog, and followed numerous links for help, yet I’m still sat wondering how this will ever be something that I become a natural at! I hope that some of you are able to relate to my situation, I can’t be the only person that finds this a really terrifying ordeal? It’s not all terrifying though, I have as a result decided to maximise the opportunity and do some social media training with our very lovely Social Content manager, Katie.
I’ve planned out my next few posts, and will be writing about things I’m learning along the way.
Now that I have a blog plan, I feel I’m going to move with the times and become a comfortable blogger – I hope that you will follow my journey and see my progress… next stop, social media training… watch this space!
Katie offers not only one to one training but group training, so if you feel the same way I do about dipping your toe into the world of digital, then please come and join me! Send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Well I’ve got to the end of my very first post, and that wasn’t so bad after all!
Halee has recently joined us having worked as a PA in the construction industry for five years and she looks forward to moving to the 21st century in the world of digital marketing. Prior to being part of the JP Gardner & Associates team, she gained 10 years of experience in reception and managerial roles within the hairdressing and leisure industry.
Halee now manages the JPG office, juggling 101 tasks simultaneously whilst answering the phone and scheduling appointments in her magical calendar.
