We recently completed a new website for Julian Clark Residential, a brand new estate agency in Chorleywood, Hertfordshire.

For once we had a website to build and fill with content in the exact location where we are based!  It does not happen very often, and is a chance for us to get really creative with our content and images, writing about our very own home and taking most of the photos ourselves!

Julian Clark is a local man, with experience working for Knight Frank and Savills, who has decided to go out on his own and that was where we came in.  Julian was recommended to Jane, and they hit it off immediately, so it was a no-brainer for Julian to choose Jane and the website team to build his new “online shop window” using one of JP Gardner & FL1 Digital template websites.

The process was simple, we chose the template, looked at other websites which Julian liked the look of, checked out all of the local competition (to ensure we were the best of the best) and then the logo and colouring was designed (not by us – although we can do this if required) and then we were off!  Jane was initially writing 8 pages of content for Julian, however, this actually ended up being ~

      • 26 published pages
      • 6 published blog articles
      • 6 call to action forms

The home page is the place where a lot of people land, so it is incredibly important for this to have easy navigation and a clear path for the viewer to reach the service they are interested in. Website trends do change, and currently, the look is minimal, with large banner images across the top of the page, taking over from video content – which can slow down your load speed – and these will grab the viewers’ attention quickly.  It is important to choose images that really reflect your business and make sure they are tagged to your Google Place. 

Julian Clark’s website home page also incorporated:

  • 3 full-screen sliding banner images (all licensed, geotagged and alt-texted for easy pick-up by Google)
  • A featured ‘about us’ section
  • 6-grid section for all the services offered, with custom imagery for each audience
  • Masonry grid – an area where we add any other part of the website easily, such as testimonials, blogs, featured properties, team members etc.  Super easy to amend and keeps your home page fresh and relevant at all times

All of our other pages incorporate a clear ‘Call To Action’ – we use Gravity Forms and Zapier so that anyone utilising our MovePal integration has all leads automatically transferred into the lead funnel dashboard for nurturing.

Green SEO for Estate Agency Website ContentOne of the reasons our websites are so popular is the effort we put into our SEO.  We use a plug-in called Rank math Pro and ensure that every page or post that we publish for our clients is in the GREEN ZONE.  This means that Google and search engines have a clear understanding of the page content and the type of audience who would be searching for the website.

Within a month of launching, you should see your website coming up on page one of any Google incognito search for your keywords and key phrases.  Many of our website competitors will not write the content for you, and you will be expected to spend weeks filling the pages with your words, which are not likely to incorporate good SEO practices.

Using a website company who have decades of estate and letting agency experience, who can write to level 4 standard, and who use a fabulous search engine optimisation package, means you will get more traffic, more leads and, ultimately, more business.  Website designers are NOT the same, so make sure you choose wisely!
