So you’ve decided to take the leap and get some promotional videos done. How hard can it be? Just say a few bits in front of the camera and be done with it. You may not be the next DiCaprio but it’ll do, right?
The truth is – yes and no.
Yes, you’ll have a completely serviceable video and even without much preparation might be a natural – but the likelihood is that it might take some practice. Things like a noisy office, no script, rushing in and out for appointments, staff missing etc. will likely hamper the shoot and stop us from creating the best video we possibly can to showcase your brand.
With that in mind, I’ve put together a quick informational video with a few tips on how to get the most out of your shoot day with JP Gardner & Associates.
Step 1: Figure out the purpose of your videos
Are you: Launching a new website? Planning an informative series? Covering local events / sponsorships? Worried about your SEO ranking? Just looking for a new avenue of marketing? Figuring this out before the shoot day will make sure we gather the right kind of footage and make a cohesive video.
Step 2: Plan your video marketing
Have you: Got a campaign to promote your video? Gathered a social media following? Got a blog to direct traffic to your website? Thought about a posting schedule / relevant platforms? Without preparing appropriate marketing, your video will likely gather dust on YouTube.
Step 3: Be Prepared
Have you: Sent an email round to all your staff? Cleared the diary for those involved / made sure people aren’t rushing? Had a look over your script for the day / have an idea of what you’re getting across? Thought of a quiet place to film away from the commotion?
