So continuing along my journey to become a professional dancer in order to entertain a thousand of my peers at the industry’s AGENTS GIVING BALL on 8th December, I find out who my professional dance partner is going to be, and what dance I shall be attempting! Read on…
So after my 5 months of ‘sneaky practice’ it’s now time to meet all of the contestants and really get down to the serious work of being ‘show ready’.
In the first instance Paula Withers, our dance mentor, and her fabulous dancing troop, want to meet us in 2 groups, in order to ascertain how we respond to learning 2 routines, an American Smooth and a Salsa.
On Saturday 3rd, I went along with my friend and former employee Reagan Bradley, who now works for Paramount-Properties in London as Head of Property Management, and who is also going to be taking part in the competition in December. We met with the other lady contestants, Emelie Braneby, Lettings Negotiator from Victorstone Properties and another Paula, Lawrence this time, from Fine & Country and Allison Barfoot of Woolley & Wallis. So to get us in the mood, our teacher Paula, discussed how it would all work, and gave us lots of hints and tips on how we should practice our chosen dance, and then we started our ‘group’ practice dances, on video, so that Paula and her team to analyse us later with a view to finding us the perfect dance partner and the perfect dance for the show.
It was exhausting but great fun and I couldn’t wait to go back the following Saturday to meet the ‘boys’ and have a sneaky 2nd chance at the practice dances (see what I’m doing here!). So the boy contestants are: Oliver Sanhaji, Negotiator from Anderton Rose in Tower Bridge, Steven from Paramount-Properties in West Hampstead, Peter Fenwick, director at Reapit Software Systems, Matt Fosberry from Fixflo tenant maintenance reporting system, Simon Bradbury from Fine and Country at Thomes Morris and Matthew Lester from Maxine Lester Residential Lettings in St Ives, Cambs. Well what a great fun and how much fun did everyone have!
So now we are all waiting in anticipation of hearing who we will have for our professional dance partner, and which dance we will be allocated to do!
I am keeping everything crossed for a TANGO and a tall dance partner to make me look a lot better than really I am!
Here I am dancing with Chris, middle left hand side. Not great but remember it was just a practice dance!

So now for the begging part – I am facing a challenge to keep the spirits high of my wonderful sister Jan, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer on New Years Day 2017, while she was staying with me over the ‘festive’ period. It was such a terrible blow as we are very close, and I want to raise as much money as I possibly can because every penny helps.
A BIG ONLINE THANK YOU
from my sister Jan and I!
